Our partnership with parents
Making sure parents are always involved

For some time, in order to maximise opportunities for collaboration and joint working, all of the Derbyshire special schools, support centres and two Staffordshire special schools have worked together as soft federation.

Some of this group, along with the Regional Schools Commissioner have agreed to the formation of a multi-academy trust under the banner of ‘Esteem.’ This is being considered as a means to continue our very successful collaborative work.  The other schools who are interested are:-

  • Amber Valley & Erewash Support Centre
  • Bennerley Fields School
  • Fountains High School
  • Fountains Primary School
  • Holbrook School for Autism
  • North East Derbyshire Support Centre
  • Peak School
  • South Derbyshire Support Centre

We are now in a position to begin the formal consultation for parents/carers and other stake holders. Our consultation period will commence on Monday 21st May and ends Friday 29th June 2018. To help you with this process you can download information about what becoming an academy and working together under the Esteem Multi-Academy Trust will mean for you and your child. We have written to all stakeholders asking for feedback or you can comment via the info@stantonvale.derbyshire.sch.uk email address. Our Governors will meet on Monday 9th July to review all consultation feedback and will update everyone as soon as possible.
