PE & Sports Premium

With a the funding for PE and Sports has enabled Stanton Vale to make additional and sustainable improvements to quality of PE, physical activity and sport we provide for our pupils. This has ensured a greater level of engagement in activities and variety activities which have been offer to best support the pupils development. There have been significant changes to our curriculum offer to allow for a greater breadth of physical activity, which benefit the physical, sensory, social, health and well-being development of pupils.

Our Forest school provision continues to be developed, which and is an important with our level 3 trained Forest School co-ordinator. Regular and frequent sessions has allowed pupils to explore the natural world and their environment, with the space and freedom to explore, discover, learn and to find calm. It has helped develop their their confidence, teamwork, independence and resilience in all four seasons of the year.

Rebound therapy is now embedded in the curriculum with all teachers now accredited to deliver this. This is part of the curriculum and bespoke lessons are delivered throughout the year.

Pupils have enjoyed engaging and learning new sports and activities through the support of Derby County’s community engagement coaches.

Our PE lead has worked with class teachers in planning lessons to encourage pupils to learn how to engage and compete in different physical activities across sports such as boccia, cricket, new age curling and ten pin bowling to name a few.

Further activities are planned later in the year, which include a residential and outdoor adventurous activities.
